Famous photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt, on August 14, 1945, following Japan’s unconditional capitulation, ending World War II, captures his most famous photo, “Kiss in Times Square,” which was published in Life magazine.

At exactly the same time, but from a less interesting angle, US Navy photographer Victor Jorgensen will take a similar photo, which will be published the next day in The New York Times, entitled “Kissing the War Goodbye.”

We don’t even have to mention which photo remained in the history!
