The Balkans, in the 1990s, were marked by a cruel and relentless war through which the violent Yugoslavia was led to its dissolution. Among the countries that eventually emerged were Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Two decades later, a group of Leica Akademie Greece students traveled by road for a week, from 11 to 18 February 2018, between these two countries. With base stations in Belgrade and Sarajevo and with important stations, among others, Igman, where the 14th 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo took place and Mostar, wanted to distinguish between the current two countries’ imprint.
Through their pictures, our students transfer the experience of travel and acquaintance with the people of our neighboring countries, as well as with a world in general, the scars of war still visible on the streets of the cities.

The exhibition is hosted at the Tyrvee Gallery in Messolonghi, from June 2 to August 20, 2018.
